Literally thousands of people will walk thousands of miles from coast to coast again this year to raise awareness and to fund research to find a sustainable cure for this dreadful disease which impacts generations of families across every demographic which exists. KGH is proud to be in that fight and will continue to be until a cure is found. We believe that every single step does make a difference!

KGH’s Team “Shields For The Cure” plans to spend three days in August on a true adventure: seeing Philly on foot with a few thousand other selfless individuals to raise funding and awareness of a disease that impacts generations of families. We believe that a healthy society is a critical component of a prepared and safe society, and we walk our talk—literally.
KGH supported the Koshka Foundations 5k Run Walk, April 16, 2016. Founded by Kristina Anderson, an injured survivor of the Virginia Tech Shooting, is a non-profit dedicated to helping local community and school stakeholders work together to prevent, respond and heal in the aftermath of school violence.
Today, we held a wonderful party for 30 children at an orphanage outside Colon, which is operated by the Salvation Army. The children had a great time jumping in the Moon Bounce (“brinca brinca” in Spanish) and getting faces painted, eating hot dogs, popcorn, and cotton candle and drinking slushies, and playing many games led by a fun clown. At the end, each child was given a present. Great Day!!!
For someone who loves dogs and supporting our military, there is no better volunteer opportunity than becoming a Puppy Parent. My husband and I became Puppy Parents two years ago to an 8-week-old labrador retriever named Cody, through a non-profit organization called Warrior Canine Connection.
Mentoring the next generation of leaders to undertake all the existing and emergent challenges to safety, security and peace is perhaps our most important responsibility, and theirs for the generations which follow.
